The song was written by Linkin Park and produced by Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin. The song debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart for the week May 05, 2012 at number 30. Linkin Park turntablist Joe Hahn directed the music video for “Burn It Down”. According to Chris Martins of Spin, he describe the song as “seared but still high-sheen slab of cross-pollinated pop driven by four-on-the-floor pump and the pulse of guitars and synths irreparably fused together.”
